Terms of Service

Effective date: October 28, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Pedigree Lab (pedigreelab.com). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

1. About Pedigree Lab

Pedigree Lab is a multi-breed show-dog pedigree registry and community operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [OPERATOR ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). Each breed has its own community with pedigrees, a Marketplace, a kennel directory, a Dog of the Month contest and a newsletter. One account gives you chat, notifications, credits and your subscription across the site.

Pedigree Lab is independent. It is not a kennel club and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any kennel club or breed registry.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using Pedigree Lab, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date, and we tell members about significant changes by email or on the site. Continuing to use Pedigree Lab after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use Pedigree Lab. You can use a username of your choice; real names are not required to sign up, but posting in the Marketplace requires a one-time ID verification with your name, address, phone number and an ID document, as our Privacy Policy explains. Keep your password confidential: you are responsible for everything done with your account.

When you sign up you choose your home breed community. It is permanent for your account: your Marketplace listings, Dog of the Month entries and kennel directory listing belong to that community, while you can still browse every other open community. Our support team can move an account to another community in exceptional cases.

4. Acceptable use

Use Pedigree Lab only for lawful purposes related to dogs, pedigrees, breeding records, shows and the breed communities. You must not:

  • publish false pedigree information or misrepresent a dog's lineage, titles or ownership
  • scrape, crawl, harvest or use bots to copy data, pages or content from the site
  • copy, reproduce, republish or clone the platform, its design, code or content
  • reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it
  • use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests you are Pedigree Lab or speak for us
  • interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access or overload our systems
  • upload content you do not have the right to use
  • post, sell or promote anything that shows, encourages or arranges cruelty to animals, dog fighting or any other illegal activity involving animals
  • harass, threaten or abuse other members, or post hateful content
  • send spam or run scams, including trying to get other members' passwords, payments or personal details under false pretenses
  • pretend to be another member, breeder, kennel, judge or organization

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Videos added to a pedigree or a kennel page are checked by an administrator before anyone else can see them, and we may refuse or remove them. Videos in Marketplace listings go live right away without that check, but we may remove a listing whose video breaks these Terms.

To protect members from spam and scams, some limits apply automatically. New accounts (a few days old, or with an email address that is not yet verified) cannot post links in messages, listings or comments, and can start only a few new conversations. Listings and comments that contain slurs are refused. We may suspend an account automatically when it shows spam patterns, such as sending the same message to many people, starting many new conversations in a short time or being reported by several members. We may also refuse a sign-up, block a new account that signs up from the IP address of a recently banned account, block an IP address used to try to break into accounts and limit who can see a member's listings and comments. We adjust these limits from time to time.

If you think one of these measures was applied to you by mistake, contact us through the support chat on the page you are shown or through our Contact page, and we will review it.

5. Pedigrees and the Pedigree Builder

You can create, publish and edit pedigrees with the Pedigree Builder. Publish only records you believe to be accurate, and only photos and details you have the right to share. Pedigree records are public and interconnected: once other records name a dog as a sire or dam, that record can stay on the site even if its creator leaves, as our Privacy Policy explains.

We may correct, merge, reassign or remove records that are inaccurate, duplicated or break these Terms, and anyone can report an inaccuracy. Coefficients of inbreeding, bloodline analysis, predictions and other results of our tools are estimates based on the records on the site. They are not veterinary or breeding advice.

6. Marketplace

Pedigree Lab connects buyers and sellers but is not a party to any transaction. Listings can offer dogs, litters, stud service, semen and AI, food and supplements, supplies and gear, dog services and courier services, or ask for puppies wanted. Every listing must be lawful, must describe what is offered accurately, and must follow the laws on selling, breeding, shipping and transporting animals and animal products that apply where you and the buyer are.

We may remove listings that break these Terms or the law. Only a buyer whom the seller has confirmed through "Mark as sold" can review that seller, once per confirmed sale. Signed-in members can comment on active listings; sellers may delete comments on their own listings, and we may remove reported reviews and comments that break these Terms.

7. Kennel profiles

A kennel profile is a page you create for your breeding program. It is visible only to you until you publish it, and public from then on. Everything you put on it, including the kennel name, tagline, location, logo, banner, description, website, social links, featured dogs, cover photos and videos, must be yours to publish and must be accurate. Registry affiliations and health testing shown on a kennel page are declared by the owner and are not verified by Pedigree Lab.

Kennel reviews can be left only by members you have confirmed as customers of your kennel. You cannot edit or remove a review, and once a member has accepted or declined your confirmation you cannot undo it. We may remove reviews that break these Terms when they are reported.

Each account may have one kennel profile. A kennel name must not impersonate another breeder, kennel or organization, and we may refuse or change a name that is the same as or confusingly similar to another kennel's, or that suggests an affiliation or status we have not confirmed. We may edit, suspend or remove a kennel profile, or any part of it, that breaks these Terms or the law.

8. Dog of the Month, chat and newsletters

Dog of the Month is a monthly photo contest in each breed community. Its rules page sets out who can enter, how voting works and what winners receive; moderation decisions and final results are at our discretion.

Direct messages are for respectful conversation between members and pass through the automated checks described in our Privacy Policy. Breed newsletters are sent only to people who subscribe, and every issue has an unsubscribe link.

9. Subscriptions, credits and payments

Browsing Pedigree Lab is free. Premium features require an active subscription, and some actions, such as posting, featuring or boosting Marketplace listings, cost credits. Current prices are shown on the site at the time of purchase. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.

Subscriptions do not renew automatically. You are never charged without placing an order, and when your subscription period ends your access returns to the free tier unless you buy more time.

Card payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, Fungies or Polar, whichever is shown at checkout. That provider acts as merchant of record: it sells you the purchase on our behalf under its own terms, and it handles payment, taxes and receipts. We never see or store your card details. We may offer other payment methods, such as cryptocurrency, in the future; if we do, their terms will be shown before you pay.

Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy.

10. Intellectual property

Pedigree Lab, including its software, website design, layout, logos, trademarks, text, graphics and original content, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, scrape, republish or use our software, design, content or trademarks to create another website or service.

You keep ownership of the pedigree data, photos, videos and other content you submit. By submitting it, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, translate and process that content as needed to run and promote Pedigree Lab. Because pedigree records are interconnected, this license continues for pedigree records that other records rely on after you delete them or close your account.

If you believe content on Pedigree Lab infringes your copyright or other rights, send a notice to [email protected] with your contact details, a description of the work, the address (URL) of the content on our site, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for the rights holder, with your physical or electronic signature.

We remove or disable content that is the subject of a valid notice and may close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address.

12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Pedigree Lab is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Pedigree records are contributed by members, and we do not guarantee that any record, title or tool result is complete or accurate. We are not liable for decisions made based on pedigree data, bloodline analysis or breeding tools, or for transactions between members, including the accuracy of listings and the outcome of sales.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms, misuse the platform or create risk for other members. Subscription time and credits are not refunded when an account is suspended or removed for breaking these Terms, unless the law where you live requires otherwise. Subscription time keeps running during a suspension. If a suspension is lifted, any credits left on the account are still there; if an account is removed, its remaining time and credits are lost. You can delete your account at any time on the account deletion page or in the mobile app, or ask us to do it for you. Chargebacks are covered in our Refund Policy.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms: use our Contact page or write to [email protected]. Legal notices: [email protected].
